Feng Shui Bedtime
Day #207 of #365 Days of Feng Shui
Well this is a little bit of Inner Feng Shui and working with the Chinese 5 Element theory. Same same really.
Tired. Exhausted. Run down.
This is soooo where I need to be right about now. (pic)
When you start to constantly go to bed late, work to all hours and generally burn the candle at both ends your body needs to rest. And to rest well.
If you are consistently going to bed late at night you may find you are starting to become a little toxic physically, mentally and emotionally.
You may wake up feeling sluggish, find it difficult to process your ‘stuff’ and you may find yourself a little emotional or moody.
Because according to the Chinese 5 Element Theory or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the most ideal bedtime is before or between 10pm or 10.30pm. Because at 11pm the Wood element starts to become active. This is your Gallbladder (from 11pm to 1am) and Liver (from 1am to 3am) and this is when your body needs to be resting the most in order for these energies to process the days intake.
The Liver loves to be horizontal to work.
And going to bed at 10pm gives it a chance to do it’s job; to detox and rid the body, mind and spirit of unwanted waste and to refuel the body for the next day.
When you allow yourself enough time to be fully asleep by 11pm you are giving your body the best position to be in to restore.
And just a side note… according to Ayurvedic theory, they believe 9.30pm is the best time because the slower and calmer dosha starts working at 10pm.
