Day #257 of #365 Days of Feng Shui
This is me today.
Fully blown overwhelmed.
A few mishaps, some stressful events, a sickish boy (I’m using that lightly) and rushing around like crazy trying to get everything done before a social event. Oh and doing this post in the middle of it!
So let’s look at some inner Feng Shui.
Here’s a little technique that can slow down that overwhelm response and calm your senses so you can start to function again.
When your body goes into fight or flight mode the blood in your head moves from your frontal lobe or rational brain, to the back of your head to move the blood to your limbs for fighting or running.
When you are in this mode you are simply focusing on survival. Which isn’t always rational.
A simple technique you can do is place the palm of your hand on your forehead and doing some breathing for about 5 odd mins.
What this does is start to shift the energy and blood from the back of the head to the front of the head or rational brain.
And the forehead has whats called neurovascular holding points which allows your emotions to release and the stress subside.
You then have the ability to think rationally and practically to get the things done that you need to do, without going into overwhelm.
