Day #86 (Plants in Places)
Cacti may just become your new best friend…
Well a particular cactus called Cereus Peruvianus or Mexican Cactus is fast becoming known as the clever little fella who may well become your next health must-have.
EMF’s or electromagnetic frequencies are saturating our homes and general environments. EMF’s are created from our electrical appliances, computers, fridges, smart metres, electricity lines etc and you can be subjected to high amounts of radiation per day by simply accessing your mobile or computer for work or social media for long periods of time.
The World Health Organisation has recently acknowledged that EMF’s are a potential carcinogen in particular radio frequency EMF’s such as WiFi and mobile phones.
There is now evidence that there is a link between brain tumours and this type of technology. So it is becoming more and more important that we start to look at ways to help reduce EMF’s within our own space.
The Mexican Cactus (not in picture – couldn’t find one- damn it – but will it looks like this one) has been observed to be thriving under high frequency power lines in South America and so there is more and more research being done on them.
At the moment there are suggestions that this cactus helps to absorb the EMF’s from their immediate environment and placing some near your electrical appliances may just be a good thing.
It’s best to always be cautionary when claims like this are made without strong evidence as it can lead to you having a false security.
Thinking that one plant can absorb all your EMF’s in your space maybe a little too good too be true. But don’t discount it just yet, building biologists are keenly waiting for new research and are recommending using them to help to reduce the EMF’s in your space, just don’t count on the doing it 100% so far.
I am guessing in the near future these pants will start to be a regular in our offices and homes.
