Day #80 (Plants in Places)
Fake Plants aren’t such a bad thing…
You can never beat the benefits that real natural and healthy plants can bring to your space and the environment. As discussed in the last few days.
So I recommend your first choice should always be a real live plant over and above a fakey.
They do have their place and value in Feng Shui.
Some good fakeys are so good it’s hard to tell them apart from real ones and they can even be more expensive.
There are a few reasons why having fakies can be a good thing.
There are often spaces within your home or business where it’s really dark or inconsistent with good quality light and activity, and a real plant placed in these areas may not survive.
Though you want something right? To joosh it up and create Sheng Qi – or healthy and positive Qi.
Using good quality fakes are a great way to do this.
Yes, they are not real,
Yes, they won’t active the room with a lot of Yang energy but…. but…
they do and can create a nice and beautiful space, which triggers this positive energy within you.
It’s the intention of beauty and gorgeousness that fakies can instil in you and your space.
I like to keep mine in the our bathroom as it doesn’t have much natural light, only a muted skylight, and find they bring a little bit of ‘Spa essence’ to the space.
You can also use fakies when you may be green thumbed challenged with a particular plant, like me and Orchids. I love them, but I unintentionally kill them, so I bought a fakey.
They are also great for spaces you don’t access everyday, e.g. an office, clinic etc where you don’t have the possibility of tending to real plants.
The only extra tip – I would recommend is to keep them dust free; there’s nothing quite like the Sha Qi (negative energy) a dust ladened fakey can create.
