Day #44 [Detox]
Stop using bleach!
There I said it.
With all the info out there in Internetland about the nastiness of chemicals I am still amazed at the amount of people who still use bleach. And this post is in particular, is focused on the mould killing debate… And bleaches issues in general.
So let’s get on with…
5 Good Reasons why you Need to Stop using Bleach and Start using Vinegar.
1)Bleach – is a chemical and is toxic. Bleach is a strong alkaline and mostly consists of sodium hypochlorite. It can cause burns and is an irritant of the eyes, skin, nose and lungs.
Vinegar – is non toxic and has no long-term harmful effect on the body.
2) Bleach – disrupts the natural bacteria in your sewage and pollutes our water ways and is toxic to fishies.
Vinegar – non toxic. Oh can I say that again…. Non toxic.
3) Bleach – is expensive to buy especially when mixed in with other nasty chemicals and slapped with a brand label.
Vinegar – cheap and accessible to buy and usually is not a brand labelled product.
4) Bleach – when coupled with acidic scouring cleaning products creates chloramine gas which is deadly to humans.
Vinegar – can be coupled with a scourer such as baking soda which is…. non toxic. And drum roll for the biggy….
5) Bleach doesn’t kill mould; it merely bleaches it and also creates food for mould to thrive.
Vinegar – cleans mould off a surface and creates an environment which mould finds it difficult to live in.
So will you be switching?
