Day #43 [Sacred Space]
One of my favourite things I love to do to before starting work, either at a business site or at home, is to light some incense.
But it’s not just lighting incense… I set my intention to bless the house or clinic, wherever I am working from.
Incense has been used for centuries for many types of ceremonies, rituals and blessings and in many different countries. It’s one of those beautiful tools you can use to immerse yourself in with its many different aromas.
I’m going to share with you now my own little personal ritual I love to try and do daily…
Before I start my day, any meditation or any other ritual work I stand at my altar and pick my incense. Whatever the amount of sticks comes out of the packet is the amount that is to be used, usually 3, sometimes 2 or 4. I then light them all at the same time and place one at my altar, one outside my front door (usually in my pot plant) and one outside my backdoor.
If I have extra I usually place it where I feel it needs to go. As I place the incense around my home I am sending gratitude to the home for housing my family, keeping us dry and safe. Thanking the space for allowing me to do the work I need to do, for housing our abundance and recognising the building as an individual who is teaching my family so many things.
I use the incense as a gift to the space, a blessing.
It’s a very simple ritual which makes me feel like I am ready for work and that I have acknowledged my space.
Do you have an incense ritual? Please share, I would love to hear your experience xxx
