Create a Gratitude Altar
Day #333 of #365 Days of Feng Shui
Gratitude can take on many forms. And a beautifully sacred and tangible way in which to give gratitude is to create an altar.
The process is very personal, grounding, creative and thought provoking. And there are many ways in which you can create one.
My altar (in pic) is a small transient altar or you can designate an area of a room to create a more permanent one.
Creating a gratitude altar can promote a deeper connection to what you are grateful for, allow the process for you to become aware of what you are truly grateful for and promote peace within your world.
You can use pictures of loved ones or items that symbolise who or what you are grateful for.
For example, many of the items in my altar has duel meanings or even multiple meanings.
Quan Yin symbolises firstly my partner because this was a gift from him for Christmas, though Quan Yin also represents compassion, strength and peace.
I have a shell and a frangipani which my sons gave me recently. They also represent blossoming opportunities, connection to children and beauty in nature.
The space is held by rose quartz representing love and support not only from within but externally through friends and family.
I have water, earth, fire, metal, wood and air symbology representing all the vital elements we rely on for life and wisdom.
What will you place on your altar?
