Day #141 (Colour Your World)
Grey is neutral and a bit of a fence sitter.
Grey is composed, mature and elegant.
Grey can be intense and mysterious or light and fresh.
Grey is controlled, emotionless and stable.
Grey is the colour related to the Metal Element and governs the Lungs and Large intestines.
Grey can become very internal and focused, keeping emotions inside and condensed.
Grey can assist you in processing and transforming or mulling things over.
Gray can open you to seeing things differently. There is a lot of conflicting feelings with the colour Grey. Because it’s a combination of white and black the views and feelings for this colour is almost 50/50.
The above describes Greys positive qualities; below are the negative qualities.
Grey can be depressing and too much grey can make you feel isolated and lonely.
Grey is detached and aloof.
Grey is monotonous, drudgery and exhaustion.
Grey depletes your energy and drains and tires you.
Grey needs to rely on other colours to create an uplifting atmosphere.
Grey is uninspiring, boring and dull.
Grey can indicate fear or sinister overtones.
As Grey is one of the colours related to the Metal element, according to Compass school, Grey is great to use in the West and North West sectors of your home.
Though don’t go too crazy with grey. It’s a great colour to have as a background colour to allow other colours to pop. Yellow and pink stand out against the colour grey. So balance is the key with this colour in your home.
Some Feng Shui consultants say that there is no room for grey within a space and others mention to not have grey in any bedrooms.
Whilst other consultants love grey on all the walls of a room.
So my suggestion is to go with your gut and take note on how your emotions respond with this colour. If you feel you are slipping into dull and boring mode or depression it may be time to bring some vitality back into your space.
