2019 the Year of the Yin Earth Pig…
The transition to this New Year energy starts on February 4th 2019, though you may start to feel the transition sooner, but by this date the energy will be well and truly underway. This is the Chinese Solar New Year, the tipping point in the change in energy.
Change, movement in search of stability and connection.
The elements for 2019 are Earth and Water (Pig).
People are already feeling the energy of the Earth Pig as they seem to be ready to leave the energy of last year behind them.
There’s a smell of positivity and change in the air with maybe a feeling of a little bit of false hope.
For some there will be major positive flow, depending on your personal chart and some people may just get swept along with the change, kicking and screaming.
So lets continue with the characteristics of Yin Earth…
Yin Earth is the nourisher, she is your garden and the fertile soil.
Part of what will be coming up and wanting to be expressed is this nurturing aspect of yourself. Your nourisher, your mother. You want to grow things and be gentle and caring, you want to have a sense of softness to create beauty and richness to your life.
This is so important to have in this world, right now. The gentle and thoughtful Yin Earth. She also has a way to bring others together and connect them through the fruits of the earth. She wants to show you what can be grown and produced through nurture and nature. She is asking you to come together and bring your food to share at the table.
You may start to feel compelled to seek and feel comfort in your life, you may do this by creating nurturing spaces in your home and business. You may start to link your space to your sense of wellbeing and open that space for others to enjoy with you. And the importance of creating supportive spaces as communities is becoming even more interwoven with how you work.
Creating communities spaces for emotional wellbeing is a great way to support yourself in 2019.
And if we compare the energy of the double Yang Earth of 2018, you know how much ‘harder’ the energy felt. It was forceful in its views, even though it was asking for change and community, it felt more like putting your massive heavy foot down and declaring what community should look like, but this year seems to be more of a sharing and honouring the aspect of the mother and nurturing energy.
Also there’s an aspect of this energy that has long been made to feel shame or ‘not cool’ and seen as a weakness, but this is the year where honouring of our nurturing selves is highlighted and required if its to support and bring in the necessary changes.
And the characteristics of Yin Water (Pig)…
Water is all about movement and change. And this is the underlying theme to 2019.
Though being Yin Water the change that is brought may not be of deep life changing change, it’s more unstable change that may lead to lack of direction. It may become a year where you can flit back and forth from one idea to the next and never having a good handle on what it is that you exactly want to do.
Though Yin Water is still very nurturing and has the ability to provide the seeds of change with much needed moisture to spark life.
Yin Water is the multi-tasker and can have many projects and ideas on the go at one time and has the ability to adapt very easily from one thing to the next. She is also a risk taker and is high paced, as she can’t focus on anything for too long, she doesn’t absorb all the depths of an issue but can still get the job done.
Rules and formalities, rigidity and conservativeness goes out the window when Yin Water is in flow. Pig gets extremely frustrated when she is confined and needs flexibility. She doesn’t do very well with boundaries and requires understanding that she’s a free thinker that brings all of her being into the one place. She can lack the ability to seperate her professional with her personal self and can take offence easily when being critiqued or not knowing where her boundaries starts and ends. Though ‘Freedom’ is her middle name.
Yin Water has big visions of her future and what she wants it to look like, though needs to be reminded to focus on details in order to make steps towards her vision to be grounded in order to manifest. She is also the typical multi-passionate personality which is the lover of all things and can’t quite settle enough to just chose one. “How can you only have one passion?” This is what makes it a challenge for her to really settle and reach her big vision.
Earth on top of Water and the two energies that will be playing together for 2019.
Earth, mothering and nurturing energy, is trying her hardest to contain some of Water Pig’s free flowing energy and getting her to focus on some important topics.
Earth and Water can sometimes make a muddy mess together and can lead to some murky bacterial environments. It’s great to stay in smaller and intimate groups to share. As larger groups can become toxic quickly and easily, spreading germs and bugs.
2019 is asking you to stop hitting people over the head with your opinions, with what’s right and wrong and start to bring in some gentleness, nurturing and sharing of experiences. Yin Earth is above the surface trying to bring people together in a way that everyone can equally share their stories in mutual respect of peoples past, generational patterns and traumas.
Water may find it difficult to stay still for too long, she may travel this year, she may have lots of interests with no core focus, but she is being lead also with care with mother’s gentle nudge to find her own independent way in the world. Taking in all cultures, all differences and views and allowing all those ideas to spark seeds of big visions and freedom.
People will be more aligned with their smaller intimate groups to the point where authority will no longer be the voice of reason. Its time for communities to take action and start to make changes despite authorities and the government.
To keep Water Pig healthy it is wise to maintain any anxiety levels, especially when they are related to gut health. The Water Pig when under stress or feeling drained, will take energy from her stomach and spleen to nurture her adrenals and visa vera. So make sure you are keeping your digestive system nourished and taking steps to lower your stress levels, is a step in the right direction this year.
A great element that can create a nurturing bridge between Earth and Water is the Metal element. The Metal element loves to use it’s breath and meditate, as well as letting go of old patterns, baggage and limiting beliefs. If you are interested in exploring this further, maybe Sacred Space Sessions are for you >>
You may also notice some sluggishness is your circulation and cardiovascular health due to the reduction of the Fire element and clash between Water and Fire this year. Ensure you continue your walking and any activities that supports your heart health. Always keeping balance and not overdoing your physical activities.
2019 is a great year to write or publish your book, get into eco-fashion, plants and flowers, media and education according to Feng Shui Master Raymond Lo. These are the industries of the Wood element that conquers money and business in 2019. Earth industries are also going to be popular such as mining, Feng Shui and environmentally friendly products and services.
This is a big year to create small sacred spaces for sharing and caring.
Here’s a few different things to ensure your 2019 is balanced and healthy
- Stay focused, even until you just finish that one project
- Share and listen
- Share your table
- Be flexible but not unstable
- Find little bits of groundedness where you can
- Feel the freedom with purpose
- Accept the nurturing energy of ‘Mother’
- Create supportive and sacred spaces with others from all different aspects of community
- Breathe, let go of worries
- It’s ok to go within and nurture your home
- Stay focused on what nourishes you.
Now lets look at another aspect of the Year….
Year #8 for Feng Shui
The #8 star flies into the Tai Ji (middle) of the Bagua this year, bringing more Earth into the centre of the home. This pulls you in and is like a magnet for you to nest in the internals of your sanctuary. But with it, a sense that you want to see more of the world at the same time.
The number #8 star multiplies the Earth energy that is already in the Tai Ji and depending on your personal home’s Flying Star chart can either compound an already unstable home or nurture and nourish it beyond what you thought possible.
It also brings with it, a focus on money and how you will be working with it, how you can start to address your finances and to put on your big pants to start to look at how you can do it better. Though this can be a bit of a double edge sword as it not only brings your finances into focus but may also make you feel like you are somehow trapped by your financial situation.
But when you’re trapped the only thing you can do is to look at it or ignore it. Best thing then…? Look at it, as it’s not going to go away. Being in the Tai Ji means it’s there all year and has no where else to go. This is a positive in the aspect that its a great time to get your finances in order, to collect it all together so it works as one system. Making a cohesive system for your day to day function and the year ahead.
So how do you feel 2019 will be for you?
I’m hoping for more patience and consideration.
More tolerance and empathy.
And more freedom with a twist of focus.
Happy 2019 to you and yours
